Eclipse and Death of Gemma and Pope Leo XIII

Why Gemma's death was close to Leo XIII's

Many biographers make note Gemma’s life coincided with the papacy of Pope Leo XIII. She was born and died when his papacy started and ended. St. Gemma prayed often for Pope Leo’s intentions. Pope Leo the XIII was Pope from February 20, 1878 to July 20 1903. Thus, his ordination was nineteen days before Gemma was born, and ended three months and nine days after Gemma died, with his death. Coincidences occur due to astrology. The answer for the papacy aligning with Gemma’s life is that both were born at around the same time, and thus are astrological twins, in many respects. Thus, the planetary actions are there for both to die around the same time (astrology creates sufficient events, not necessary).

Gemma was born shortly after the Capture of Rome, in 1870, which created the Prisoner in the Vatican period. Catholicism no longer had an empire. It was the end of the Papal States and the Pope having his own military. The Vatican refused the Law of Guarantees, from Italy, and thus the Pope could never leave the Vatican walls, hence terming himself “Prisoner in the Vatican.”

In mundane astrology we can look at National Birth Charts, but there is also the more ancient tradition of looking at the ruler’s ordination or birth chart. Thus, Pope Leo the XIII represents the Vatican, for Gemma.

Pope Leo XIII was the first pope of whose voice a sound recording was made. The recording can be found on a compact disc of Alessandro Moreschi's singing; a recording of his praying of the Ave Maria is available on youtube. He was also the first pope to be filmed by a motion picture camera. He was filmed by its inventor, W. K. Dickson, and blessed the camera while being filmed. Born in 1810, he is also the earliest born person to appear in a film.

Further, Pope Leo XIII re-founded the Vatican Observatory. This astrologer loves to geek out at the fact that the Vatican has an observatory. While, officially, the observatory is purely for astronomical purposes, I can’t help but think the Vatican is watching out for Jesus’ words in Luke 21:25, or aliens. But, that is pure speculation on my part.

Leo XIII also declared Anglican orders as “null and void.”

Today, Pope Leo XIII is best known for composing the St. Michael prayer (after a vison he had). It was said at the end of every low mass as a prayer of protection for the church. This prayer is no longer mandated at the end of mass, by the Church.

This is a great prayer against evil. It is a lay exorcism prayer, by itself. Today, the dissenters against The Church bellyache and conspiracy theory about this prayer no longer being mandated. If the prayer not being said bothers you so much, feel free to say it by yourself at the end of each mass.

The chart was built at the time of The Vatican’s surrender in the Capture of Rome. What’s interesting, is this time and day puts the Sun at 27 Virgo, one degree off Gemma’s Ascendant at 28 Virgo. If we read this chart as a country chart, this is a connection between the monarch (Pope) and Gemma. Further, Gemma’s Neptune opposes the chart’s Ascendant at 1 degree. That’s a connection between Gemma Catholicism and this period of the Vatican. Further, Saturn is at a 0 degree square with Gemma’s Saturn and Sun. This shows a “Life (Sun) of Dogma (Saturn) or Obligation (Saturn). This aspect is creating an aspect much like Gemma’s natal Sun/Saturn conjunction. This can be read as Gemma leading the life she did because of The Vatican and Catholicism.

The Sun is ingressing Pisces showing a new religious ruler. Neptune, at 5 Taurus is sextiling the Sun. “New (Neptune) Monarch (Sun).” Gemma’s birth chart also has a Sun/Neptune aspect, a semisquare, making “New (Neptune) Born (Sun).” This is an example of how the planets allow for different expressions and events on earth. The one aspect shows a birth, the other shows a new ruler. Neptune doesnt’ move between the two charts, but the Sun does. However, the two planets remain in aspect and the new degree for the Sun creates a different expression where we get Gemma.

On Pope Leo XIII’s ordination chart, his Juno is conjunct Gemma’s Mercury. This shows a compatibility between her intellect and communication with Vatican. Further, the Papacy’s Moon is at an inconjunct with Gemma’s Mercury and parallel her Juno. This can show the papacy “Watches/Observes or Scrutinizes (Moon) Gemma’s Writings (Mercury).” The parallel to Juno is interesting as showing a strong connection between the two. Moon represents Mother, which is how the Church is referred to by Catholics: “Holy Mother Church.” Thus, the Juno connection is showing Gemma tied to Holy Mother Church, and particularly Pope Leo XIII’s papacy. At Pope Leo XIII’s death, three months after Gemma died, Juno opposes Gemma’s Pluto at 1’57” orb. “End (Pluto) Ties (Juno).” Thus, there seems to be a heavy connection between Gemma and Pope Leo XIII.

Because the two died three months apart, all the planets from Saturn and out barely move. They are in the same degrees. These are the planets that govern death and the afterlife. On both death charts we have Saturn at a semisquare with Uranus. “Suddenly (Uranus) Dies (Saturn).” Interestingly, both also have Saturn trining the Moon. For Gemma, this means “Dead (Saturn) Female (Moon).” For Pope Leo XIII, this is showing “Observes (Moon) Death (Saturn)” showing how many witnessed or heard of the death of the Pope.

Gemma died on an eclipse. As stated earlier, an eclipse’s effect can reach out three to six months. So, it may also have shown Pope Leo XII’s death. There were two eclipses surrounding Gemma’s death: A new moon, solar annular eclipse at 7 Aries on 29 March 1903, at 02:00, less than two weeks before Gemma dies. The chart, by itself is interesting with so many planets at 7 degrees.

On Gemma’s chart, this eclipse is in her House 8, the house of death.

This eclipse portends death. Saturn (Death) is sextiling the Sun (Life) and Moon (Girl). It is opposed by Mars (Kill). And, for good measure, it also trines Juno (Fate). Juno appears often in death charts. Thus, we have “Dead (Saturn) Girl (Moon).” Saturn also squares Venus, which the eclipse is in a semisextile with, to give “Dead Girl.” The Mars opposition gives us a bloody (Mars) death (Saturn) and girl (Venus/Moon). Saturn is in a trine with Mars. Mars is of nails, piercing, cross, and crucifixion. So, it should be remembered that Gemma was said to have died undergoing a mystical crucifixion.

In the biwheel, we have the Eclipse’s Mercury conjunct Gemma’s Sun and Saturn in Pisces (Pluto). “Disease (Pluto) Stop (Saturn) Breathing and Life (Sun).” The Eclipse is also 15 degrees off her Sun and Saturn showing her life being eclipsed and blocked out. This same chart can show a Pope’s death since Saturn is in that 0’00” sextile with the Sun (Monarch). Pope Leo XIII died from pneumonia. Thus, Mars at 7 Libra is showing a death (Saturn) from fever (Mars).

The eclipse is on Pope Leo’s Mars opposing the eclipse’s Mars. The eclipse’s Juno is trining his Mars, and the Saturn is in sextile with his Mars. Mars shows the fever, Saturn and Juno show the death from it. This eclipse signaled Pope Leo XIII’s death.

Gemma’s death ecipse is an eclipse over Pope Leo’s Jupiter, a classic indicator for death of a monarch. Other than that, I don’t see too many strong aspects on this eclipse. While Gemma died under this eclipse, it looks like the prior, March 29th, solar annullar eclipse was the real powerhouse behind their deaths. This aligns with astrological theory that total eclipses are more “powerful” than partial eclipses.
